Procurement & Supplies Management
Management of supplies
Organizing lab supplies is a very important aspect of the daily routine in a life sciences lab.

How?
Having a digital inventory, easily updated by all users and containing information such as location, supplier, price, quantity and other relevant information.
Having a digital resources platform for sharing reagents and other supplies that are not needed on a specific group anymore.
Those actions will reduce double ordering, time and consequently costs.
Other green tips
Make the reagent last as long as possible, whenever possible, choose suppliers that have taken-back programs for packaging;
Give preference to supplies (e.g. reagents and culture media) that can be stored at room temperature.
When preparing tenders for equipment acquisition, don't forget to request the information detailed above, and consider the equipment environmental impact when defining the award criteria.
