Cutting down on travel emissions and waste was the first area that event organizers and participants looked into. Switching to virtual events has changed the idea of sustainability in events and now more areas have been added to the list. Hopefully, virtual and hybrid events are here to stay, but as we go back to face-to-face conferences, some other sustainable aspects could be relevant to implement and reduce the event carbon foot-print.
